These terms cover this website and the chimney and fireplace work we do for households in Parker, Colorado. They are written plainly on purpose. If any part of it is unclear, ring the shop at (720) 222-4772 and we will talk it through.
Who these terms are between
"We", "us" and "our" mean Parker Homestead Chimney, working out of 9235 Crown Crest Blvd, Ste 120, Parker, CO 80138. "You" means whoever is reading this site or hiring us to do work. Using the site, asking for a visit, or having us do work means you accept what is written here.
What this website is for
The site exists to explain what we do, let you ask for a visit, and pass along what we have learned about chimneys. Read it, print it, send a link to a neighbor. All of that is welcome.
The words, photographs, logo and layout belong to us unless we have said otherwise. Please do not republish them on another site or in marketing without asking first. Quoting a paragraph with a link back is fine.
The articles here are general, not a diagnosis of your chimney
Our articles describe how chimneys usually behave and what the published standards say. Your chimney is its own animal, and the only way to know what it needs is to look at it. Nothing on this site replaces an inspection by someone standing in front of your hearth.
Where we write about building codes, insurance claims, deadlines or regulations, we are reporting what public sources said when the article was written. Those things change, and how they apply depends on your policy, your property and your circumstances. None of it is legal, insurance, tax or engineering advice. For anything that carries real money or real risk, confirm it with the body that issued the rule, with your own insurer, or with a licensed professional.
Asking for a visit
Sending the form or leaving a message is a request, not a booked appointment. A visit is set once we have confirmed the day and the window with you directly. We try to answer quickly, and most Parker visits land within the week, but nothing is held on the calendar until we have said so.
The free look, and the written number
The look and listen visit costs you nothing. If work comes out of it, you get one written number before anything starts, and that number is what you pay. If we open something up and find a condition nobody could see from the outside, we stop and talk to you before carrying on. Nothing extra appears on a bill without your say so.
A quote is good for the period printed on it. After that, materials and schedules may have moved and we may need to look again.
Where we work
We serve Parker, Colorado. If your address sits outside Parker, we will tell you plainly rather than take the booking and let you down later.
Getting to the work
We need safe access to the hearth, the roof and the chimney. Before we arrive, clear the area around the firebox, move anything breakable off the mantel, and let the fireplace sit cold. Tell us at booking about gate codes, locked side yards, alarm systems, dogs or horses that take exception to strangers, and anything on the property we should know about.
If we arrive and the chimney cannot be reached safely, or the roof is wet, iced or wind blown, we will reschedule rather than take chances. We would rather come back than get somebody hurt.
Changing or cancelling a visit
Weather happens and so does life. If you need to move an appointment, tell us as early as you reasonably can and we will find another day. We will give you the same courtesy if our schedule or the weather forces a change. Any charge connected with a cancellation or a missed appointment will have been set out in your written quote beforehand, never sprung on you afterward.
Paying for the work
Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance falls due, are the ones set out in the written quote or invoice for your job. Those documents govern. If something about a bill looks wrong to you, call us before you do anything else, because most of what people think is a billing dispute turns out to be a question we can answer in two minutes.
Our work, and what we can honestly promise
We do the work carefully, with materials suited to this climate, and to the standards the trade works to. Any warranty on our labour or on a part we supply is written on your quote or invoice, and that written warranty is the whole of what we promise. Manufactured parts also carry whatever warranty their maker provides.
What we cannot promise is that a chimney will never want attention again. These are masonry and metal assemblies standing out in Colorado weather, and they wear. We are not responsible for conditions that were already there and that we did not cause, for defects hidden inside a structure where nobody could see them, for damage from storms, settlement or work done by others, or for a system that fails because recommended work was declined.
Photographs of the work
We photograph our own work, and some of those photographs end up on this site. They show chimneys, rooftops and the crew, not house numbers, street signs or anything that identifies whose home it is. If you would rather we did not photograph your place at all, tell whoever is on site and that is the end of it, no explanation needed.
Limits on what we owe
So far as the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with this website or with work we performed is limited to the amount you paid us for the job the claim concerns. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or the cost of alternative heating.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Links to other places
We sometimes link to codes, agencies, manufacturers or other outside pages because they are useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they say or do.
Changes to these terms
We update this page when the way we work changes. The date at the top tells you when it last moved. Using the site after a change means you accept the version then showing.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. Any dispute arising out of them belongs to the state courts sitting in Douglas County, Colorado.
